New trustees needed!

Could you be a trustee?

We are recruiting volunteers to join Plas Gunter Mansion’s Board of Trustees.

Plas Gunter Mansion in Abergavenny was built in the 17th century and is a hugely important Grade 2* building. Now in a terrible state of disrepair, we are working to restore the building and bring it back to life.

If you care about the town and our community and you want to be involved in this exciting heritage project, we want to hear from you.

We very much want our Board to reflect the community we support. To enhance the diversity of our board we would particularly like to hear from people of minority ethnic background, disabled people and marginalised groups.

You don’t need experience of being a trustee. Enthusiasm for the project and a willingness to get involved are much more important.

We are particularly interested if you have skills in:

  • Community work
  • Work with minority ethnic groups
  • Disability
  • Heritage
  • Conservation
  • Tourism
  • Digital skills
  • Legal
  • Construction
  • Young people

As a trustee you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be involved in an exciting historical project
  • Help regenerate part of Abergavenny’s town centre
  • Contribute to the town’s heritage
  • Help create a legacy for future generations

Time commitment

The trustees meet approximately every six weeks for an hour and a half (meetings currently held on weekdays after 5pm via Microsoft Teams, but will eventually be in Abergavenny).

You may also be asked to participate in one of our sub-groups where the time commitment can vary from ad hoc work to regular meetings.

Deadlines for applications: 12pm on Friday 19 March 2021
